Movie Review: The Twilight Saga: New Moon

Quote of the day: You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of reality.
-Ayn Rand
Just to tell you first, I got the H1N1 jab today, so if I have any misspelling, please be understanding. Okay, I know it's kinda late, but I really wanted to do this review while the image of the movie is still fresh in my mind. But just in case I've got any mistakes, I'm checking the plot on wikipedia. Before I get on with the actual review, I just wanna say that there are a few posts coming up, one on my trip to Batam, a few Food Recommendations and the last one on another movie review.
SPOILER ALERT!!!! (If you haven't watch the film yet, you might want to skip to the personal comment part."
Main Plot
The movie started with Bella having a dream, a nightmare actually, of her seeing her "grandma". She was standing next to Edward and wanted to introduce him to her when she found out that the old wrinkled woman she was seeing wasn't her grandma at all, but a mirror image of herself. Bella woke up, startled. Coincidentally, it was her 18th birthday. Her fear of being older than Edward came true. Edward's adoptive family throws her a birthday party(much to Bella's agony)but the party made a direful change when Alice hands her a gift and while unwrapping the gift, Bella got a paper cut, which sets off Jasper's vampire intuits and attempting to kill her. Realizing the "danger" he and his family posed to Bella, he decided to leave her, thinking it was in her best interest. They had a talk in the woods and Edward told Bella not to do anything reckless, then leaving her. Bella was depressed and upset for months, having nightmares that leaves her screaming in the middle of the night and waking up a worried Charlie to her side. Charlie, seeing things going from bad to worst, decides to send Bella back to Jacksonville to live with her mother. However, Bella refuses and agrees to spend more time with her friends. After watching a movie with Jessica, she encounters a group of men who remind her of her days with Edward, she approachs them slowly and was surprised to see a vision of Edward warning her not to go near them. Bella soon dicovers that trill seeking activites grant her wishes of seeing Edward. Slowly, she began to deepen her friendship with Jacob Black, a werewolf. Many incidents occur including Jacob fixing a bike for her, going out to a movie with Jake and Mike and crashing a bike that lead to Jacob's crush on her. Then a series of miscommunications lead Edward to believe that Bella is dead and he wishes to die too, thus he tried provoke the Volturi, a powerful group off ancient vampires who are capable of killing him by exposinghimself to the sunlight. Alice arrived at Bella's house in time to tell her all this and they rush off to Italy where Bella prevented tragedy from happening. However thee Volturi, seeing that Bella is a mortal yet knows so much about them, decides to kill her. Alice then shows them a vision of Bella as an immortal and promised to change her personally. The Cullens then vote for Bella to become a vampire, much to Edward and Jacob's dismay. Jacob reminded Edward of an old treaty that the Cullen's made with the werewolves: they will not fight, but only if the Cullens don't bite a human. The movie ended with Edward asking Bella to marry him.
Personal Comment
I really don't know how to judge this film basically cause I myself is a fanof twilight. So I will stand on a normal person's view(hopefully) and rate this film. First, the bad points. It's a bit boring, if you're a die hard twilight fan, it's okay. But if you're not, be careful of dozing asleep at the start. The good points are that I really have to praise Chris Weitz for the ending. Bella never answered Edward, which leaves us high and dry and will so watch Eclipse. I know this cause when the film, ended a low moan ran thoughout the theater and a "WHAT!!! HOW CAN END LIKE THAT?". Good work Chris.
I give this film a 7.5 out of 10
